Jamal Abro is the writer of several short stories including some masterpieces like Pirani and Pishoo Paasha. Pirani is a story about a girl, who is merely a child, being sold as a bride. The story is based on real life in the rural areas of Pakistan.

Pirani, Seendh, Badtameez, Shah jo Phar, Munhn Karo, Khameeso jo kote, Pishoo Pasha, Badmaash, Laari, Meharbani, etc., are some of the stories that lent a new dimension to the diction and interpretation of the Sindhi short story.
